Rob Sketcherman, Hong Kong

Rob Sketcherman freelanced for a little over 20 years as a graphic designer, illustrator, copywriter and voice actor. In late 2013, practical reasons compelled him to put his analog tools away and try sketching on an iPad. This was a pivotal moment. Shortly after, he happily joined Urban Sketchers Hong Kong and has since become one of its board members. Now a full-time artist working largely on his trusty tablet, he is also in the process of writing a book on the subject, and does occasional commissions, the most recent being for Moleskine to sketch and illustrate the 39th Hong Kong International Film Festival. He was also recently invited by Apple to run a workshop unveiling his process for sketching on an iPad, in conjunction with their global Start Something New creative campaign.
